Welcome to my Current Collection from the Bayside area of Brisbane - featuring the foreshore are where land meets sea in the Manly Wynnum and Lota areas.
I love the feeling of rest and home that the Wynnum Manly Lota foreshore gives to me so generously, not expecting anything in return. I have returned there for more than 30 years and although I live elsewhere in Brisbane, I visit regularly. I am drawn to the place of quiet, calm and serenity, not the busy times. I love to sit peacefully with the water, trees, birds, mangroves, shoreline, islands, changing light, sunrise and sunset. The rainy days and the sunny days. Summer, spring, autumn and winter - all year around there is something new and encouraging to experience.
There is always another quiet moment waiting.
Look. Pause. Breathe. Release. Rest.
I experience the bayside as a place of connection and generosity. I photograph the moments that make me stop. The moments that ask nothing of me.
