Keryn Hyslop creates using acrylic, watercolour and a range of interesting materials and equipment.

Her work is from personal experience in Australian nature. Deep dark rainforest, light and airy coast, dry dusty inland, running, flowing creeks, streams and rivers, windy hills and mountain tops and the wildlife that reside there all make a mark on her.

Keryn interprets and translates her experience of these and her desire is to share feelings, emotions and spaces evoked through her expressive abstract and illustrative works.

Her artworks have distinct mark making, imperfections and often naive, childlike illustrations and drawings. This is in part, intentional, due her disability, and also as part of her art practice. It speaks of acceptance and love of a life imperfect.
